Walk Summary

```html Downtown Montreal Walk
April 12, 2025
The Montreal air, crisp and hinting at spring's green promise, kissed my face as I began my urban pilgrimage around 2:20 PM. My leisurely pace took me westward, further into the heart of downtown where towering glass cathedrals reflected the azure sky.
I wandered past the Place des Arts, where the echoes of a thousand performances seemed to linger in the very stones. Did you know the Place des Arts is the largest performing arts complex in Canada? I passed the Musee d'Art Contemporain, and remebered that it was founded by the government of Quebec in 1964.
I strolled southward, the St. Lawrence River drawing me closer. I stopped and watched the water flow. Did you know the St. Lawrence River is actually an estuary? What could be more beautiful.
The walk took a more easterly turn then, a homeward bound trek and a chance to view some of the city's great architecture. The walk brought me past Place Ville Marie, a cruciform skyscraper in downtown. It's the tallest International Style skyscraper in Canada!
By 4:20 PM, the walk had closed the loop, my feet whispering stories of concrete and sky. Next time, perhaps a stroll through Mount Royal Park, to view the city from above.
